Immediate and Measurable

The two most important keys to achieving true progress in sustainability are immediate and measurable. Green Building needs immediate and measurable results. The Living Building challenge and the Version 3. standards recently announced by LEED is a call for architects, engineers, interior designers, and product manufactures to step up to the plate and hit a homerun. A homerun is a building that not only sustains itself but also produces extra energy- thus energy plus building. This is a good step but Green Building or sustainable design in the USA is somewhat of a spring chicken. In every journey it is always good to have a leader. Europe and other countries are ahead of the United States in most areas of all environmental issues. Europe for instance has been a leader in many areas of energy efficiency and regulating it through various techniques. Follow the leader. I think follow the leader will be the title and subject of my next post.

Hi Paul, I have some ideas I want to share with you, and was given your info via your mother here in Winchester, Va. I won't go into alot of detail at this point, but your ideas and mine need to meet. I have an idea that runs parallel to your Green Building concept. My e-mail is travellingmind3@hotmail.com. I am going to foward you some information at a later point, but I think you'll enjoy what I have. I've done research on PEM Fuel cells over the last 4 yrs or so, and have a concept that I think will work, but need more heads involved than just mine. Look forward to sharing info.

Jeff
